Just had to post that my babies are now 5 weeks old (December 5, 2006). Two are very big, the rest have a little (really a lot) catching up to do. So far there is only a gray color with clear fins, but I don't expect them to have color yet. I will try to get more pictures of them. I have found that if they are at the very front of the 10g tank, I can get better pictures of them (my camera lens is a 35/70, so it does not take "Micro" (close up) pictures (or I just don't know how to). I will have to "steal" my daughters digital camera that has that function on it (my old camera).

Posted: Wed Dec 13, 2006 10:25 am After loosing my biggest baby, I was very depressed. I felt like I could and should have done more.
This morning, I got up and fed the 11 (9 are from my BF VT "Rover"..2 are from my other VT...he is white "Blackie"..I'll change his name if I think of something better..I though I lost his whole brood, but found 2 babies hiding in the hornwart, so I added them to Rover's brood). After getting ready for work (8:00 am..work at 9:00 am) I had nothing better to do then to stare at the remaining babies. The only big one that I have had started developing color! The babies are 6 weeks from the date of hatch! The baby is showing a hint of red on all fins! This may be my Rover Jr. I have been waiting on (if it is Roverette, I will still be as happy)!
I also looked into a Micro lense for my camera so I can post pictures...$700.00 for the cheapest!, so everyone will have to wait until they are bigger and my camera can focus on them...Sorry!
One more thing...kinda off subject...I talked to my lps (mom and pops kind), looking for Methylene Blue, and told the manager(I think) of the Fish department about the forum and gave her the address. She seemed really excited. I hope she joins!

Posted: Sun Dec 17, 2006 2:56 pm Here is a picture of the baby showing color!
(sorry, picture would not transfer)
The color is at the base of the tail, and along the anal fin, close to the body.
