I am one step closer to helping along my "another tank" disease. I solved the problem of why my tank isn't cycling. My old strip tests were reading funny and I finally got a drop test (pulled a dave ramsey) and testes it and my ammonia was at 8.0; hidering not helping bacteria to grow. Needless to say I did a 50% and brought the ammonia down to 4.0. That should help.

You had mentioned in another thread you were going to use the pure ammonia fishless cylcling method, do I have this right? If so make sure you do not ad any fish until your ammonia returns to 0 or near 0. If you have fish I would also consider adding media from a cycled tank, which is my preferred method with which I have had little ammonia spikes and few fish losses over the years. Either way, good luck with your latest aquarium!! ;D Carl americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquarium_Information.html
