Specific Name: Origin: Austrailia Size: 40+ inches Common Name: Peral Arowana, Jardini Arowana, Austrialian Arowana
Info: Jardini arowanas look very much like asian arowanas, making them also highly prized. Jardini arowanas are VERY aggressive, They will kill about everything else in the tank. Like silver arowanas, They have a fast growth rate in their first year and it tends to slow down after that. Feeding is hard, but remember to have a large covered tank.

Good Info ;D
I had several Asian customers in So. Cal. that had these and other Asian Arowanas, they are considered good luck.
Besides hikari arowana sticks, and some feeders, we fed these a lot of crikets!

jardinis are often favored, as they have the asian arowana shape(the only difference would be the amount of scales and coloration) and they are way cheaper and not illigal. However their temper is amazing. There are only a few fishes out there that will attempt to kill the hands that feed them, flower horns are one and jardini arowanas are the other. I never kept a fish that was so aggressive b4.

Yes, I also have had Red Devils attack me, but the worst has been the Moray eels in the many aggressive marine tanks I have maintained over the years. a couple of tanks me and my emplyees had to have a stick in one hand while the other hand was busy to beat off the eels, one employee (Gregg) got his hand really shredded once.
I had a couple Asian with illegal Red arowana several years back (they asked me to get them, but I refused).

it is a joke how easy it is to get these fish, but in away that is a good sign, meaning that these fish are making a come back. i personally love the way they look, but i am not at the point where i would spend about 3000-5000 on one fish.
But most people that have them do treat them as gods and at least they are well cared for. i personally dont find red asian arowanas to be my favorite unless they have a deep spoon head, i personally like green X backs, but i guess thats what make people different, based on their likes of fishes.
