So I have HUGE problem. Fall has hit us suddenly and quite hard where I live. My room goes with the outdoor temp. If its cold my room is cold. My bettass live in my room. During the summer and late spring months this was no problem it was nice and toasty in my room and they were happy. Well in the last day the temp went from being 80 outside to 40 outside. They live in one gallon bowls so a heater would cook them. I have no money to upgrade to bigger tanks and the rest of the house is just as cold. My room is ice. I can curl up in my blankets but my bettas can't seem to swim and be happy when I put jackets on them (jk). So I put "jackets" on their bowls. I change hace their water and replaced it with warm water so they were swimming nice cozy warm water, I wrapped a thick thermal blanket around their tanks and covered the tops of their bowls with blankets as well (I left a spot for air so they could breath). I kept them close to one another and this seemed to work okay but it is not going to work out as a solution for all winter. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep them warm this winter? HELP?!

Outside of small individual heaters, I prefer to use infrared reptile lamps (usually around 60 watts, but that can vary according to your needs). I then place these lamps in a desk lamp or similar and adjust the height from the bowl according to heating needs. The advantage with these bulbs is that you can leave them on 24/7 without disturbing night/day patterns that fish need. Carl aquarium-answers.blogspot.com/

thanks for the new tip. I'll use it. But I am waiting for katie to post her old answer. All of the questions that say copied are from the old forum I am moving my posts.
